Earthquake Strikes Today in Delhi: Mild Tremors of 4.0-Magnitude

Tremors were felt in several parts of capital- Delhi, after an earthquake 4.6 magnitude strike today early morning around 8 am in Kofarnihon, Tajikistan. According to the USGS, an earthquake struck at a depth 0f 10 km whereas the local report says it was 5 km.

Another earthquake was reported with a magnitude of 4.0 in the south region of Delhi, Muzaffarnagar with a depth of 44 km in the early morning today lasting just a few minutes.

Several occupants and adjoining cities of Delhi share through Twitter after feeling mild tremors.




Earlier this month, light tremors were felt in the national capital, Delhi-NCR after a strong earthquake of 6.1 magnitudes in Hindu Kush mountain range near Afghanistan-Pakistan border. According to IMD (India Meteorological Department) official reports, the earthquake lasted for 40-50 seconds.

As per the report, there is no loss of life or any damage to property.
